Where Product Management and UX Meet
FEATURED PANELISTS
Back by popular demand, UX in ATX is hosting another night of short UX Talks. The topic: Product Management.
Our three guest speakers presented on different aspects of where UX and Product Management meet.
Speakers
- Pedro Duarte, Head of User Experience Design at Critical Software
- Jacqueline Sigler, Senior Product Manager at GoDaddy
- Sudha Balasubramanian, Senior Product Manager at Redfin
Duarte will speak about the future of product development.
Duarte says product development is not what it used to be. The way we create, develop and deliver products has changed significantly in a short period of time. Nowadays, our customers need shorter, faster and more iterative deliveries to validate their ideas, and receive and implement feedback rapidly to add value for their end-users.
Sigler is an Austin-based Senior Product Manager with more than 4 years of experience in product management and 9 years prior experience in the financial services industry in corporate strategy and mergers acquisitions. Jacqueline has been a PM at GoDaddy for 2.5 years focused on its digital marketing software and services products, desktop and mobile-web based. Outside of work, Jacqueline enjoys Austin’s hikes, eccentric coffee shops and local businesses, as well as reading (online and hard copy), and is a self-professed Bravo aficionado.
Sigler says: Product and UX design have a unique and close partnership. How that manifests in work relationships and day-to-day, can look different across teams, companies, and even at the project level. It is a critical relationship to delivering strong, customer and user-focused products – and gets that extra sparkle when dreaming through delight and innovative moments. This talk will cover examples of different ways PM and UX have worked together at GoDaddy as well describe specific initiatives – how, when and why PM & UX worked together and where the lines stepped further apart.
Sudha Balasubramanian is a Dallas area-based Senior Product Manager. She currently leads home buyer customer growth at Redfin. Her 13-year career includes more than 9 years of managing digital products across real estate, hospitality and life sciences. Sudha lives in the Dallas area with her family and loves traveling, movie marathons, painting and DIY projects.
Balasubramanian says: A strong product management and UX partnership is key to product success. Product and UX working together can help identify the most valuable problems to solve, determine how best to solve these problems and define what user success looks. To generate value in today’s world, it’s essential to develop deep empathy with end-users, understand key pain points and iterate until we find a solution that delights users.
