Unpolished: UX Office Hours is a monthly, in-person gathering for UX designers and researchers of all experience levels. There’s no formal speaker and no slides—just a light theme, optional co-working, and space to talk through real work and real questions with other UX folks in Austin.
This month’s theme is Career Crossroads.
What we’ll focus on
Most UX careers don’t follow a straight line. Roles shift. Expectations change. Burnout happens.
Career Crossroads is a space to talk honestly about questions like:
- What’s next in my UX career?
- How do I grow without becoming a manager?
- Agency vs. in-house vs. independent work
- Navigating burnout, plateaus, or transitions
This is conversation—not coaching or recruiting.
What to expect
- Co-working or quiet reflection time to ease in
- Office hours–style conversations around career questions
- Optional group share-out at the end for insights or resources
Come with a question, a story, or just a listening ear.
Who should come
- UX folks at any career stage
- People considering a change
- Leaders figuring out what “growth” means now
Students and early-career designers are welcome, too.
Why “Unpolished”?
Because career questions are rarely tidy. This is a space for honesty, reflection, and learning from others who’ve been there—or are there right now.
Logistics
- Space is limited; please RSVP
- This is an in-person event
